Exporting Contacts through Bitpim
- Make sure the phone you want to export from is on the list of compatible phones.
- Make sure you have the phone-to-PC cable specified in the list, or that the phone has Bluetooth.
- Connect to the PC using the cable. Otherwise, follow the below steps to connect via Bluetooth.
- Connecting to the PC using Bluetooth:
- Turn on bluetooth on the phone so that it is discoverable.
- Search "bluetooth" in the Start search bar to open the Devices and Printers window.
- Click "Add a Device"
- When Windows finds the phone, follow the prompts.
- Check back at your phone -- it will prompt you to make sure you really want to connect.
- Once added, in the Devices and Printers window, you will see your phone. Right-click and select Properties.
- Click the Services tab and make sure at least "Serial Port", with a COM and number, is selected. Press OK.
- Click the Options tab and enable most of the options.
- Click the COM ports tab and ensure both an incoming and outgoing port are enabled; if not, add them.
- Launch Bitpim.
- Go to Edit > Settings. Enable "Read-Only".
- Click Phone Wizard on the right and select the phone you're exporting from. Click Next.
- If you're using a Verizon LG phone, select "COM" or whatever other port is available. Otherwise, choose "auto". Click Next.
- Click Detect Phone to check that everything is connected properly.
- Press Finish.
- Press OK to close the Settings window.
- From the main Bitpim window, select File > Export > CSV Contacts. Click OK.
Exporting Contacts from Windows Mobile
- Open Microsoft Outlook and delete all your contacts.
- Close Microsoft Outlook.
- Connect the Windows Mobile device to a PC using the USB cable.
- Method 1 (only for WM6):
- Download TBExport and copy the executable to your device.
- On your device, run TBExport and press "Export" to save your contacts as a CSV file.
- Find where you saved the CSV file and save it to your computer.
- Method 2:
- Open Windows Mobile Device Center and select Set Up Your Device.
- Make sure Contacts is the only thing selected. Click Next.
- In Windows Mobile Device Center, click the circle button with two arrows to sync your device with Microsoft Outlook.
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Click File > Import and Export.
- Select Export to a file and click Next.
- Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) and click Next.
- Select the Contacts folder and click Next.
- Enter a file name to save the CSV file as and click Next.
- Press Finish.
Exporting Contacts from Blackberry
- Connect the Blackberry device to the PC using a USB cable.
- Open Microsoft Outlook and delete all your contacts.
- Close Microsoft Outlook.
- Open Blackberry Desktop Manager.
- Click Synchonize.
- Click the Configuration Tab.
- Click the Configure Sync button.
- Highlight Address Book.
- Click CHOOSE button.
- Choose Microsoft Outlook.
- Select the the SYNCHRONIZE radio button.
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Click File > Import and Export.
- Select Export to a file and click Next.
- Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) and click Next.
- Select the Contacts folder and click Next.
- Enter a file name to save the CSV file as and click Next.
- Press Finish.
Exporting Contacts from iPhone
- Connect the iPhone to the PC using a USB cable.
- Open Microsoft Outlook and delete all your contacts.
- Close Microsoft Outlook.
- If it doesn't open automatically, open iTunes.
- In iTunes, in the source list, under Devices, click the entry for the iPhone.
- Click the Info tab.
- Under Contacts, click Sync contacts from, and then click Outlook.
- Do one of the following:
- To synchronize all contacts, click All contacts.
- To limit the contacts that are synchronized, click Selected groups, and then click the groups you want to synchronize.
- To select multiple groups, press CTRL as you click each group name.
- Click Apply.
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Click File > Import and Export.
- Select Export to a file and click Next.
- Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) and click Next.
- Select the Contacts folder and click Next.
- Enter a file name to save the CSV file as and click Next.
- Press Finish.
